Inspired by the lullaby “Row, Row, Row Your Boat,” which my mother sang to me as a child, this poem emerged on my 50th birthday—woven from the threads of grief, love, motherhood, and awakening. As I raise a toddler and mourn the recent passing of my beloved mother and heart dog Pixie Babu, I reflect on what it means to live, die, and heal. Through the lenses of meditation, quantum physics, and self-inquiry, I share what’s helping me soften into mortality with less fear and more acceptance. This piece is both a tribute and a turning point—my offering toward becoming more Loving and Free.
