ANIMAL SHELTERS

USA:

  • PAINTED RAIN RANCH – World renown writer and animal communicator Karen Anderson and family forever home sanctuary for abused animals in WA state.

  • SD CARING FOR CANINES – A non-profit corporation and shall operate exclusively for charitable purposes. The purpose for the corporation is to provide rescue, shelter, and veterinarian care for abused and neglected dogs, thru fundraising. We are focused on helping privately run shelters within South Dakota as well as those located in current war-torn areas in Afghanistan and Iraq, as well as in Romania.   • WESTERN HILLS HUMANE SOCIETY – Our local no kill shelter in Spearfish, SD. They are amazing people who care for the animals. I have visited their facilities and donated before. Great people. The Western Hills Humane Society is a no-kill, non-suffering pet shelter that protects, saves and enhances the lives of abused, neglected, forgotten or lost animals. 

MEXICO:

  • SAN PANCHO ANIMALES -San Pancho Animales eliminates animal suffering in and around the pueblo of San Francisco, Nayarit, Mexico. They strive to provide education and veterinary services to shape an environment of care and compassion towards animals. If you can adopt an animal from them, they are a wonderful group for this- personally adopted Ru from them.
  • SAYULITANIMALS – SayulitAnimals was founded in response to the problems of overpopulation, sick neglected pets and street animals, lack of knowledge in the community about animals, and unwanted pets in Sayulita, Nayarit, Mexico. I personally adopted my Pixie Baby from them in 2014. They are wonderful!
  • WET NOSES RESCUE – In Sayulita, fate brought together two extraordinary women – one American and one Mexican – who shared a deep concern for the well-being of countless sick, abandoned, neglected, and abused dogs and cats in the area. Another trustworthy, hard working organization that is legit for donations and adoptions.

HONDURAS:

  • JASPER’S UTILA ANIMAL SHELTER – Jasper’s Utila Animal shelter is small, privately funded and run by volunteers. It does not have the capacity to take care of every animal whose owners do not, for one reason or another, want or cannot care for them any more. Shelter has ‘no kill’ policy and offers home to every homeless animal. I personally visited them, met the founder, walked their dogs, and donated to their organization. They are incredible.


There are more animals that need a home than there are shelters, check how you can support your local shelters. Part of my income stream is happily donated to these 7 organizations that I know and support.
