Reiki is a gentle and loving subtle energy channeled from the universe or The Field, as described in Quantum Physics. It can be offered to anyone, and although it is not used to diagnose, it can work in conjunction with other therapies or before and after medical treatments. Pets, plants, people of all ages, babies, and situations can all benefit from Reiki.

Founded in Japan, Reiki is a form of non-invasive light and love-based energy that assists us in our self-healing. Stress, trauma, limiting beliefs, low frequency thoughts, and illness all restrict the natural flow of “ki”- the life force energy that moves through the body and all living things. By restoring this ki to the body, uplifting our vibration, removing blockages, and shifting energy that is not for our highest good, Reiki rejuvenates us with an abundant flow of energy.

Breathing techniques, vocal tones, and the sweeping of hands above the body in various ways and throughout the room can also be used to break up energy blocks. Reiki can be performed with light touch from slightly cupped hands on the recipient’s body or without touch about 2-3 inches above the body.

Reiki may be defined as a spiritually guided life force energy or Universal Life Energy. Reiki is made up of two Japanese words- Rei and Ki. Rei is the wisdom that permeates everything and guides the evolution of all creation. It is infinite and all-knowing. It may be translated as Consciousness or God.

Intention is everything. Reiki flows to the part of the body that needs it. Reiki can never cause harm. In sum, Reiki translates as God’s Healing Energy.

Ki is the energy that animates all living things. Ki flows through everything that is physical- humans, plants, crystals, animals, and space. Ki can be prana, chi, or mana. The source of health comes from this Ki that flows through and around our bodies. Ki responds to our thoughts and feelings, for example you can relate this to how our auras reflect our state of being through our aura’s color frequencies. Negative, disharmonious thoughts will cause disruption of ki, affecting also our frequencies in our mental and physical states. Western medicine recognizes the role of the mind in causing illness. Some doctors estimate that 98% of illness is caused directly or indirectly by the mind, as expressed in the Reiki Manual.

The beauty of reiki is that because it is directed by higher intelligence or God consciousness, it knows where to go and how to respond to the restriction in the flow of ki. Therefore, we do not need to know exactly how this is done or works. Reiki restores our natural flow so that we can de-stress and self-heal. Our true intention to change our patterns will greatly help reiki perform lasting effects.

My Offerings To You

Reiki On Your Yoga Mat

Reiki can be given on your yoga mat while you take a restorative pose or during Savasana.

Long Distance Reiki

Reiki Healing can be given long distance. Reiki moves beyond our 3-dimensional time-space, ordinary reality. We can transmit this energy to anyone, any situation, anywhere, and it is just as beneficial.

I received my Reiki levels 1 and 2 in 2019 with my teacher and mentor, Shar Joy, who I continue to apprentice with and do ongoing energy healing work. My goal is to become a Reiki Master with her as soon as this course becomes available. Since my training, I have given Reiki to my family, friends, and yogis on their mat, and I have also sent it long distance for assisting in challenging situations. I offer Reiki as a gift to others.

My personal experience with Reiki has been comforting during challenging moments. When my mother and heart dog were experiencing difficulties in their health, the Reiki my teacher and I sent to them created a lot of tranquility and rest. In other situations, the receivers involved could feel the support and love I sent in their direction. As a recipient of Reiki from my teacher, my bodily sensations were lightness in my stomach, happiness in my emotions, and trust in the unfolding of events. I felt more clear and relaxed.

“What we are beginning to discover is that the physical/cellular body that medicine has begun to understand all the way down to the molecular level is nourished, structured, and almost invisibly guided by a variety of spiritual and life-force energy systems. This new perspective of human physiology is based on an understanding that the atomic structure of the body, at the quantum level, is actually made up of particles of frozen light… or compressed miniature energy fields. Subtle energy is tachyonic, or supraluminal, in character, meaning that it travels faster than light.”

Reiki Aftercare

It is encouraged to nurture yourself through any energetic shift you could experience from Reiki. Self-healing can occur more gracefully by supporting the body’s natural detoxification process, which can be mental, emotional, physical, or a mix of all. Stay present with yourself, using breath relaxation, and allowing the process to be its own. Self-loving routines are helpful, such as massage, gentle yoga, writing, or a walk in nature. When these are performed sustainably, they create more loving connections towards ourselves and, therefore, our self-healing.

Some sensations after Reiki can include: feeling more calm, less emotional and physical pain, higher sense of well-being, emotional release, crying, sensitivity, fatigue and the desire to sleep or rest, feeling warm or cold, tiredness, or wanting time to process or integrate your emotions. There is no right or wrong- whatever you experience is right for you.

Your body possesses its own wisdom to know what is helpful for your healing. Use your intuition, listen to your body, and follow its guidance. A few simple recommendations can include drinking lots of water, eating clean foods, getting lots of rest, meditating, journaling, and avoiding strenuous activities. And if you are under medical care always follow your doctor’s guidelines.

Insights

From Richard Gerber, MD -Astrology and The Rising of Kundalini by Barbara Hand Clow

The chakras are not actually part of the physical body but are vortexual energy centers that exist in the higher subtle bodies known as the etheric, astral, and mental bodies. Each of these higher bodies that has its own specialized functions is formed from etheric, astral, or mental matter, a variety of “subtle” matter that vibrates at speeds beyond that of physical matter, allowing the subtle bodies to interpenetrate the physical body. These subtle bodies and their associated chakras actually exist at higher dimensional levels. Thus the term “multidimensional reality” implies interactions not only in the physical body, but also in the higher dimensional bodies, such as the etheric and astral as well.

This will make sense only if we view human beings from a higher energetic perspective that takes into account the meridians, chakras, and subtle bodies as energy systems that help to coordinate and regulate the physical body. The chakra system is linked by special channels that travel the length of the spinal cord. In the yogic and tantric traditions, there is an energy force referred to as kundalini, that usually lies dormant in the root chakra at the base of the spine.

In reality, the kundalini is an evolutionary and creative subtle life energy that ascends the spinal pathway, progressively activating each major chakra along its path. As the kundalini energy rises, it may encounter resistance from so-called blockages in the major chakras. These obstructions to energy flow are usually related to an unconscious difficulty the individual has in dealing with particular emotional and spiritual issues that are associated with the blocked chakras. When the kundalini energy encounters resistance to ascent due to the blocked chakra, the energy will continue to hammer away at the area of resistance until the individual either resolves the “blocked emotional issue” or begins to manifest physical symptoms in the particular chakra-associated body region. The physical symptom is often a symbolic message from the higher self to examine the way the individual is dealing with the lessons of that chakra.
